Quotes Required for Village Works

Bleadon Parish Council is looking for three quotes: one to Renovate the Mens & Ladies Public Toilets, one to Repair the Jubilee Garden Wall and another to Prune a Tree in the Playground.

 

These works were announced over the last few months, more specifically in the October 22 meeting. The required tender specifications and budgets have yet to be agreed by full council, so it's assumed that these pieces of work are still up for grabs.

NOTES:

  • Jubilee Garden Wall (See Min 356.4.12)
    • Originally raised as a safety issue.
    • Work to be paid via a 'Coronation Halls Maintenance Fund' that BPC will set up'.
    • Whether BPC owns the car park area, or holds it in Trust, is yet to be confirmed.
  • Men & Ladies Toilets Renovations (See Min 356.7.12.b
    • A project to renovate the Men's toilets was originally agreed in July 2020 (Min 334.7.7 and notes)
    • Dec 21 Min 347.7.6 "to set up a working party to investigate the current state of the toilets with a view of re-furbishing in 2022". This was prior to a budget being/not being set for this in Jan 22 and Q1. No Reserve was set aside. There is a maintenance budget of £4K with £2.6K spent (Q2)
    • BPC received a £10K grant in 2020 for paying business rates on the Public Toilets. £9K was declared remaining in the Business Grant Reserve at this year's AGAR pg2 i.e. 31 Mar 22
    • BPC previously minuted  £1K to be considered for the COVID19 Group, (£1,931 for councillor Tablets and £175 for an additional Newsletter Print BVN115 for Bleadon Hill?), £9K to offset the expenditure around the Halls that it holds as Custodial Trustee.with £620 for painting the toilets.
    • In Oct 22 BPC discussed the creation of a renovation brief and to set a budget for 2023/24. With the Toilet related Business Grant depleted, will this renovation now result in a rise in the precept to cover the costs? Will it be taken from a different, as yet undeclared Reserve?
