BOB understands that following advertisments on parish notice boards and via BOB, the 4 existing Bleadon Parish Councillors (originally elected in May) have now voted to co-opt two additional councillors from four potential applicants at their meeting on 14th September.
The two successful are Steven Hartree (a previous councillor from last term who decided not to stand at May election) and Claire Gutsell. This now brings the total of councillors to six with three further vacancies available.
BPC has now 'lost' it's Quality Council status and 'General Power of Competence' which brought it more flexibility on financial spending in the past and will now be more restricted on where and what it spends 'our' money on.
A new clerk to succeed Bruce Poole may also soon be appointed.
