Coronation Hall and Youth Club Non-Domestic Rates subsidy threat

Posted on 25th December, 2015

Email below received from Keith Pyke representing Bleadon Youth Club.

"Yesterday (23/12/15) I received a letter on behalf of the youth club from North Somerset Council.
It announced a "Consultation on proposed changes to discretionary rate relief from April 2016"
The letter is dated 21 Dec. The "consultation" period runs from 30 November to 11 January.
So we are already half way through the consultation period before NSC sent out the letter asking us to participate, at a time when most organisations are effectively shut down for the Christmas/New Year holiday.
This is either gross incompetence, or a deliberate attempt to be underhand and not "consult" at all.
You can see the consultation document and respond to the questionnaire on line at:
I urge you to look at this and respond. I have on behalf of the youth club.
Kind regards,
Keith"
