September Parish Council Meetings

Posted on 5th September, 2014
Agenda and minutes to be discussed and decided in meetings on Monday 8th September 2014 can now be found from links on respective dates at http://www.bleadon.org.uk/parishcouncil.html

Some interesting Agenda items include:

  • A change to Standing Orders to now allow video recording and/or broadcast of meetings. This seems a great idea for those who feel the minutes as currently produced do not always 'tell the whole story', It will also allow people who are unable to attend meetings to see and hear what our Parish Council really discuss and decide.
  •
  • A Councillor resignation. Apparently the combined role of Employer (Councillor & Vice-Chair) and Employee (Village Ranger) was initially not thought to be 'a conflict of interest' but this error is now being corrected! Therefore, a notice of casual vacancy should be posted immediately by our clerk giving the potential for an election should 10 electors request it. Otherwise a PC co-option will no doubt prevail until the whole council must be re-elected in 2015, either way anyone interested (you don't have to live in Bleadon) can get further information here http://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/candidate-or-agent/parish-and-community-council-elections-in-england-and-wales
