After all the hard work of the past few months I am delighted to invite you to the Grand Opening of the Brean Down Way on Friday 7 July.
The formal bit will be at 11.45 for noon, at the sluices across the River Axe. We hope that you will also be able to join us in walking or riding the section of the route that Greenways and Cycleroutes has just completed after the opening.
We are planning a day of festivities, starting with a walk or ride through the North Somerset section, and going on to the tip of Brean Down, via a barbecue at the National Trust Café, and, weather permitting, games on the beach. You are of course welcome to join those too. The invitation attached has all the details.
Feel free to share this invitation with others who may be interested. We are immensely proud of what we have achieved, and would like to see as many people as possible there for the opening.
Please be warned that the route may not be open if you try to cycle it before 7 July. The Environment Agency have asked us to wait for them to build their fences before allowing public access.
