Bleadon Hill Hearing 8-9 Nov 2016

UPDATE - The appeal continues on Wed 9 Nov but NOT at WSM FC, it starts at 10am at Wentwood Drive for the purpose of a site visit including access to local services and consideration of the affected landscape views locally and from Uphill etc.

The Appeal to the Planning Inspector by the developer (against North Somerset Council) for the refusal of their application is to be heard this week. (A 50 house development is proposed on the fields above Wentwood Drive and Highfield Road, near Hillcote). The hearing is this Tuesday (tomorrow) and Wednesday 8-9 November at 10am.

The other Public Inquiry Appeal for 79 houses on land at Bleadon Hill starts 29 November at The Town Hall.

The first day of the hearing did appear to go quite well, although it would be very difficult to predict which way the Inspector will go. He should play poker.
I did find it very interesting that the Inspector raised the question about whether the site would benefit a protection order without being prompted.
The site visit appeared to go well and a few points of interest, shall we say, were raised on the way round. Although again it would be very difficult to predict which way he will go.
Everybody involved has done the best they can and we should all be proud of the community spirit that has been shown throughout this endeavour.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you,and also on behalf of the action group, for your valued support throughout and your continued support for the Bleadon hill application.
