Bleadon Belles Sing and Bake to Raise Funds for the Diamond Jubilee Scanner Appeal

At their concert in May with the Worle Wind Band, the Bleadon Belles with the help of their supporters baked cakes and provided refreshments for the audience. A generous donation was also received in recognition of their musical efforts, and so together with the proceeds of the concert and even more money raised at Bleadon's Queen's Birthday celebrations, they were able to present a cheque for £1,400 to the Scanner Appeal at their WI Meeting in Bleadon.

Bleadon Belle, Liz Butt presented the cheque to Margaret Brees who represented the League of Friends of Weston General Hospital.  Mrs Brees thanked the choir for their contribution, which will be added to the £70,400 already raised towards the scanner which will cost up to £400,000
