Residential Burglary

 

A home has been burgled between 11pm on the 23rd and 6am on the 24th in Barton Road, Winscombe. The offender gained access via a conservatory door, and once inside stole a tin box, £20, two bank cards and a bunch of keys.

Covid Digital Passport Scam

 

A new scam has been identified targeting the Covid Digital Passport scheme. Fortunately it appears this fraudulent website has since been closed, but as per the attached document there will undoubtedly be others so please remain aware.

Crimes

 

The following crimes have occurred in your area recently:

 

Someone entered a garage on Vereland Road, Hutton, during the night of Thursday 17 June. The offender(s) have entered the garage through an unlocked rear door and have stolen a large amount of gardening equipment and other tools. A nearby CCTV camera suggests that this crime happened at approximately 3am. If you contact the police about this incident, please quote Reference number: 5221136138.

 

The front and rear number plates were stolen from a vehicle while it was parked on Bridgwater Road, Bleadon, during the night of Thursday 17 June.

 

We recommend that drivers take extra precautions to prevent this type of crime. Screws that only tighten-up are one option, but please check that this won’t affect any warranty you have for the vehicle.

Residential Garage Burglary

 

A garage has been unlawfully entered on the 17th between 2am and 4am in Vereland Road, Hutton. The offender’s most likely used a ladder from a nearby property to climb over the fence into the garden and the entered the garage via an insecure door where multiple items have been stolen from within including a Lawnmower - Unknown make but black and orange, Strimmer - Black and Decker, Toolbox, Tools, Sander, Tile cutter, New boots - Unknown make, Bottles of wine and beer, Workmate bench, Orange box of sockets, Wrench set, Extension lead, Watering can and a Broom.

Somerset – Extreme right-wing terrorist sentenced to 23 years

 

A man from Somerset has been found guilty and sentenced for sharing terrorist material and possession of explosives.

Attempted Theft

 

The same person has made two attempts to steal a copper hot water tank from outside a property on Parsons Way, Winscombe. This happened at 9 and 11.40am on Thursday 3 June. The offender arrived in a white van.

Somerset: Gov.Uk Scam Email

 

Please be aware that today I have received an email claiming to be from Gov.UK advising that a number of National Insurance Numbers have been disabled following reports of fraudulent activity. The email states that if you are the recipient of such an email then your NIN as they state has been disabled and you must reactivate on the Red (Start Now) button shown on the attached document.

 

If you receive one of these emails, please Do Not follow the instructions and Do Not click on the Red (Start Now) Button, simply delete it immediately.

Theft from a Storage Container & Vehicle Crime.

 

Theft from a Storage Container.

 

A storage container has been broken into in Whitley Road, Banwell sometime between mid-afternoon on the 16th and 11:30am on the 19th. Offender/s have forced their way into the secured container and have stolen 2 motorbikes described as a KTM 150 Motocross Bike in Black and Orange and a Pit Bike KM140MX Black & Red (Bright Pink Spokes).

Vehicle Crime.

 

A car has been damaged whilst in a carpark in Cowslip Lane, Hewish sometime after 10am on the 17th. The owner of the Toyota vehicle returned to find the Catalytic Convertor had been stolen.

 

Do please remain alert to any suspicious activity particularly around the underside of any vehicles. Honda, Toyota, Lexus & Hybrid models in particular, reporting immediately anything you feel unusual, this may include observing more than one person, jacking a vehicle in a hurry and cutting noises.

A car has been damaged at some point between the 29th April and the 4th May whilst parked on the owner’s driveway in Hutton Hill, Hutton, WSM. The owner of the Lexus vehicle returned to find the Catalytic Convertor had been stolen.

Theft and Handling Stolen Goods.

 

A site has been unlawfully entered in Greenhill Road, Sandford sometime between the 1st and 4th May. The offender/s have gained access by opening fencing and have then gone on to remove a quantity of insulation products and scaffolding parts.
