What questions should the Police and Crime Commissioner ask your Chief Constable?

Rural crime, serious violent crime, stop and search and vehicle crime are the topics that Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Sue Mountstevens is inviting local people to submit their questions on, to put to Chief Constable Andy Marsh.

Local people across the Avon and Somerset police force area are once again being asked for their policing questions ahead of the next Facebook live on Tuesday, April 24 at 11am and this is your opportunity to have your say.

PCC Sue Mountstevens said: “These live webchats are an opportunity for me to hold the Chief Constable to account on behalf of our local residents.

“People will undoubtedly have local concerns about serious violent crime given the national headlines as well as have questions about rural crime, vehicle crime and stop and search.

“Holding these sessions regularly means that I can put live and timely topics and your questions to the Chief Constable and get the answers our communities want.”

Chief Constable Andy Marsh said: “It is important to the Commissioner and I that we are as open with local people as possible and it’s vital that we hear your concerns.

“In the latest webchat you raised some really valid points about police funding and resources, stalking and harassment and rape and serious sexual assault.

“I hope my answers helped give a better understanding of these areas of policing and I look forward to seeing what you have to ask regarding this sessions topics.”

Chief Constable Andy Marsh is responsible for day-to-day operational policing and has direction and control of the Constabulary’s officers and staff. It is the PCC’s responsibility to set the strategic direction for policing in Avon and Somerset and hold the Chief Constable to account for delivering policing.
