BCU11 17032017 Somerset
The Avon and Somerset Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC), Sue Mountstevens, wishes to establish a Scrutiny of Police Powers Panel. The Panel will act as ‘critical friend’ to the PCC and to Avon & Somerset Constabulary providing feedback on the use of police powers. The PCC is looking for independent local people to help her monitor the use of police powers such as stop and search, Taser and use of force by the police. The PCC feels it is important that not only are the public’s views represented in policing, but that local people trust and have confidence in their police service and she believes this new Panel will help in delivering this.
