Village Ranger Ian Findlay has reported the following:
"....A number of dead Koi Carp (2-3 foot in length) have been found dumped 100 metres up the public footpath that runs from Shiplate Road alongside Hilltop House toward Hellenge Hill. These fish are worth a lot of money, I would estimate £6-10 thousand pounds worth. Police have been informed, it is not yet known if they are stolen or where from, anyone with any information please contact the police...."
