Re light pollution-I would be very disappointed if the lighting policy was changed in so far that the lights at the bottom of Celtic Way were reintroduced after midnight. It is a well known fact that theft is more likely to occur when the thief has ample lighting to see what he/she is actually doing. Please see the Campaign for Dark Skies website. They highlight what is good versus bad lighting and do make reference to this issue as it is a common mis-understanding.
Before making ilinformed comments, please check when the burglary was done. Thankfully Celtic Way has never had lights except at the bottom of the hill. I doubt the cost to be a Quality Parish would pay for much in terms of lighting and this doesn't take account of the more than problematic issue of light politico a.
We should be more vexed by the impending noise pollution from the wake park.....
I would much prefer the Parish Council to re instate the village lighting after midnight and drop this ridiculous Quality Parish Council. The money saved in expenses and subscriptions could then be used to pay for the lights.
