Opportunist Thefts

Crime Prevention Advice:

There has recently been a spate of walk-in opportunist thefts across the Policing District.

Can you please remind your members to make sure windows and doors are secure, even if you are outside in the garden or garage.

With the warm weather you may want to throw open your windows and doors, but remember it only takes a few seconds for a thief to enter your property and steal your possessions.

If you are leaving your property for any length of time, please consider using timer switches, make sure you cancel your deliveries such as milk and papers and ideally ask a neighbour to collect your post on a regular basis.
