SCAM: Message from PCSO Michele Barrett 8487 at Weston Police Station.

If you are contact by the Police, please verify who they are.. Do not give personal details or bank details over the phone. Legitimate Police wouldn't`t ask for them unless it is related to a case and then you would be aware of it. To check who they are, ask which area they work, for their Force ID (collar no) and name. Call 101 ask for the constabulary they are from. Ask the call taker to put you through to the Officer.

If the caller is unwilling to give any of the above information then they are not calling for genuine reasons. We would always be happy for you to check who we are by calling back through the 101 number.

When you call 101 to verify if they are genuine please call from a mobile or another line. It could be that they haven`t cleared the line and you may still be speaking to them.
