UPDATE: 14 Jan 19: Telephone Scam

This message has been sent as a warning to residents:

A telephone scam is circulating across the county where residents have received telephone calls from people claiming to be from Westminster Police. The caller states that they are investigating a crime or have a suspect in custody who has their bank details. The caller then asks them to reveal their card details for checking.

A second call is often made a short while later claiming to be from their bank. Again this appears to be part of the scam. Please remember never to give bank details to anyone you do not know or trust and do not continue conversations with persons you do not know or trust.

Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) - 5 reports across the beat.

Beat Surgeries:

17 January - Winscombe farmers' market, 10am-12noon

18 January - Banwell country craft store, 10-11am

PACT/Have Your Say - agenda at parish council meetings as published locally

Local team will be holding horse tack marking session at Murphy's Saddlery and Tack Shop, Puxton on 26 January from 2-4pm

Crime report

Following is an overview of crime that occurred in your beat area over the Festive period. If you need more clarification about any particular matter please contact Lindsey at the NHW office.

24-25 Dec - burglary at property in Leedham Road, Locking. Door had been forced open and door chain also broken. Nothing stolen.

26 Dec - burglary at Elm Tree Road, Locking. Window of the property found to be open and damage also caused to the garage door. Unknown if anything had been stolen.

16-23 Dec - damage caused to a vehicle parked in Queens Road, Banwell.
