Nomination papers are available to download from the North Somerset website. Information for use by candidates is available from the links at the base of the webpage given below.

We are providing the following information for use by prospective district and parish election candidates:

“If you are intending to stand as a candidate at the forthcoming local government election in May 2015, there is a page dedicated to prospective candidates on the Council’s website.

http://www.n-somerset.gov.uk/Your_Council/Local_democracy/Pages/Election-2015.aspx

From this page you will be able to download the form that you will need to complete (also here). The documentation required to enable you to stand as a candidate needs to be delivered to these offices between the hours of 10.00 and 18.30, week days ( not weekends or bank holidays) from 25 March 2015 to 4 p.m. on 9 April 2015. These cannot be sent by post and have to be received at the Town Hall in Weston-super-Mare in person. You should put any nominations in an envelope and you will obtain a receipt on delivery.

If you would like Electoral Services Staff to informally check your nomination papers you will need to make an appointment. Appointments will be available during normal office hours for you to book on a first come, first serve basis, up to the 7 April 2015.

There is also a link on the Council’s website, to the Electoral Commission website, where you will find all the information you require to complete the necessary documentation. When you are completing the nomination documentation you must ensure that you correctly state the name of the ward for which you wish to be a candidate. A number of these have changed since the boundary review, together with their name, and there is a table on the prospective candidates page on the Council’s website to assist you with this information.”
