Subject: Planning application 13/P/1560/F for a 110 foot wind turbine in Butcombe

Dear Mr Turner (CEO North Somerset)

My constituent, Mrs Carole Venner of Windrush, Butcombe BS40 7UX tells that Ms Brenda Wear of Windover, Yewtree Batch, Butcome has made this application. The electricity company, Endurance Wind Power, a Canadian based company, are behind the application and Aspire Planning Ltd, 1st Floor, St Augustines Yard, Orchard Lane, Bristol are behind the publicity for the electricity company.

A Committee is being formed in the village and they may have already made representations to North Somerset.

Butcombe is in the Green Belt and there are no good reasons why the usual restrictions should be breached.

My constituent has lived in Butcome for 43 years because she enjoys living in the peace and quiet of the countryside.

This will be a blight on the village due to the site being so prominent and unsightly and, in addition, the noise will cause them distress. My constituents feel that if the application is accepted, this will open the gates to other applications from landowners on the Mendips which will be detrimental to the area Mrs Venner and other local residents are concerned about their future if this development is permitted. The noise and disruption will affect their quality of life considerably. This is a most unsuitable place for a wind turbine of this size.

I hope you will consider the opposition of the village to this proposal and reject this planning application.

Yours sincerely

LIAM FOX

Parliamentary Office of the Rt Hon Dr Liam Fox MP
